March of Dimes Walk

The real "star" of the March for Babies......

It was a gorgeous Saturday morning, perfect weather for a 6.2 mile walk. We had a great time 'power-walking' and meeting families who have benefited through the March of Dimes program and research. Perhaps next year we can take little Ayla with us...weather permitting of course!

We joined the St. Lukes RMC Team and met up with a few of Ayla's RN's and one of her Doctors from the NICU- it was neat to see them again and catch-up. They were thrilled to see how BIG little Ayla is getting!

I must admit- was pretty proud of my sticker! Beings that I am allergic to exercise and haven't done much recently (okay, for like a year and a half) I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with Ryan's 'power-walking'. But it was all good and 1.5 hours later we were back at the park...wow! Ryan took it easy on me though. I love him and was so happy we were able to go together!

Next year we are thinking of building a Team to walk with us- how fun would that be?!

We are walking on Saturday 24th for the March of Dimes- it should be fun! This is the first time we have participated in a March of Dimes walk and are looking forward to it. If you haven't heard; the March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health and supports research- it's a life saving organization.

When we were in Portland for Ayla's eye surgery, we met the March of Dimes President, Dr. Jennifer Howse, who was visiting from New York. She was a neat lady who took time to listen to our story and offer support. The March of Dimes was filming a documentary and came by Ayla's hospital room for a brief interview. Unfortunately, our interview didn't make the cut on the video.....we were almost famous! haa haa

We are grateful for the March of Dimes and their efforts to find solutions to premature babies.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter!

We spent a relaxing, Easter weekend watching General Conference and hanging with sweet Ayla.....what could be better?

Ayla is such a sweet girl- she sat contentedly in our laps and played on the floor. It was such fun to relax together as a family this special weekend! Ryan cooked a fabulous ham complete with all the trimmings....topped with desert!

Easter is such a tender time of the year when we can reflect upon the life of our Saviour with love and appreciation for His sacrifice. Our family has much to be grateful for and especially that of Eternal Families for we know that we can be with Zoey again. We have been spiritually uplifted this weekend; God loves us and blesses us and is aware of us. What a cool truth to know!
